The founder of A Step Above, Reggie Barbosa, moved to Myrtle Beach in 2004 to pursue a career in residential and commercial construction. After seven years in construction at the beach, Reggie was guided to a different venture through the encouragement of his loved ones. A Step Above was developed in 2011 after Reggie continually heard complaints from friends and family about their home renovators. The most common grievances were a lack of reliability and lack of overall quality that the existing local companies provided.
It was in these objections that Reggie realized there was an opportunity to provide something better and A Step Above was born.
